They aren’t nearly as rare of a sight as I had thought. The one thing that I think may hold them back is the human unpredictable factor that no-one has (or can?) fully accounted for even though the expectation for the predictability of a self-driving machine is much higher.

I see console gaming shifting more and more to the casual gamers (parents, grandparents) the Wii and Kinect have made it more accessible to people who could never get the hang of controllers. I suspect PlayStation will try to go that way too (they gotta do better than the Move). I imagine they will have to keep getting cheeper and cheeper to compete with that market but I see it going that way more and more in the future. For heavens sake my wife is the one that wanted an XBox 360 not me! I rarely use my gaming consoles except in party type situations or for media streaming.
